Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
These terms are an agreement between you and Alexandr Fedoseev ("we", "us"), the operator of Taleswords. By creating an account, creating a project, or otherwise using Taleswords, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
If you use Taleswords on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.
2. What Taleswords is
Taleswords is a visual editor for branching dialogue. You create projects, define scenes and characters, draw dialogue graphs, upload image assets, and play-test the result in the browser.
Taleswords is in early access. Features change, and parts of the service may be added, altered, or withdrawn as it evolves.
3. Accounts
An account is created with an email address and a password. You are responsible for your credentials and for everything done through your account.
Keep your password confidential. If you believe someone else has access to your account, contact us at legal@taleswords.com.
4. Anonymous projects
You can create a project without an account. An anonymous project has an expiry date and is deleted when it expires.
To keep an anonymous project, claim it into an account before it expires. We do not undertake to recover an expired project.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the stories, dialogue, characters, and image assets you create or upload. We claim no ownership of them.
You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store, copy, process, and display your content so that we can host it, show it back to you, and make it available to others when you choose to publish your story. That licence lasts as long as we hold the content in order to provide the service, and it exists for no other purpose.
You are responsible for the content you upload. You confirm you have the rights to it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Taleswords to:
- upload or distribute content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- access accounts, projects, or data that are not yours;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the service or the systems it runs on;
- reverse engineer or interfere with the service beyond the access it gives you;
- resell or redistribute access to the service without our written permission.
7. Termination
You may stop using Taleswords at any time. To have your account and its content removed, write to us at legal@taleswords.com.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
8. No warranty
Taleswords is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, free of faults, or that it will fit a particular purpose of yours.
Keep your own copies of work that matters to you. We do not guarantee that content will be preserved or recoverable.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost work, or other indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Taleswords.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top. If you keep using Taleswords after a change, you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, and disputes arising from them are subject to the courts of Germany.
