1. Who this covers
This policy explains what data Taleswords handles and why. Taleswords is operated by Alexandr Fedoseev, who is the controller of the data described here.
It covers this website and the Taleswords dashboard application, which runs on a separate address.
2. What we collect
Account data. When you register we store your email address and a hash of your password. We do not store your password itself.
Content you create. Projects, scenes, characters, dialogue graphs, and the image assets you upload. This is stored so the editor can show it back to you.
Technical logs. Our servers record ordinary request data — such as IP address, timestamp, requested address, and browser user agent — as part of running and troubleshooting the service.
Analytics data on this website. See the next section.
3. Analytics and cookies
This marketing website loads Google Analytics, a third-party analytics service provided by Google. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information about your visit, such as the pages you view, approximate location derived from your IP address, and details of your browser and device.
We use this to understand how the site is found and used. Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy.
You can block analytics cookies through your browser settings or a browser extension. Blocking them does not affect the rest of the site.
4. How we use your data
We use the data above only to operate and improve Taleswords:
- to create your account and sign you in;
- to store and serve the projects and assets you create;
- to keep the service running, diagnose faults, and protect it from abuse;
- to contact you about your account or the service;
- to understand how the website is used, through the analytics described above.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your stories or assets for anything other than providing the service to you.
5. Who else sees it
Your content is not public unless you publish it. Publishing a story makes it available through the public player to anyone who reaches it. Beyond that, we share data with the service providers we need to run the service — for example the hosting infrastructure the service runs on, and Google Analytics for the website statistics described above — and with anyone we are legally required to disclose it to.
6. How long we keep it
Accounts. Account data and the content in an account are kept while the account exists.
Anonymous projects. A project created without an account carries an expiry date and is deleted when it expires. Claiming it into an account before then keeps it.
Logs. Technical logs are kept for as long as they are useful for operating and securing the service.
7. Your choices
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its content to be deleted. Write to legal@taleswords.com and we will handle the request.
There is no self-serve deletion or export in the product today — these requests go through the address above.
You can block analytics cookies in your browser at any time, as described in section 3.
8. Security
Passwords are stored as hashes, never as plain text. No service can promise perfect security, so keep your own copies of work that matters to you.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version is always on this page, with its date at the top.
